To say that I am completely inept in the kitchen is probably generous. I often joke I married a chef so I wouldn’t starve. My husband, Michael does try to teach me things and I’ve picked up a couple edible dinners that I can feed my family. Don’t worry – Michael created this recipe, and it’s amazing! I love the idea of “Night Cereal” because our kids love anything that accompanies milk and they think were cool parents for letting them have cereal for dinner. BONUS, they got to help prepare it – which they love. When I told them the plan they were like, “Wait….you’re going to let us make food AND we get cereal for dinner?…” That’s right kids! Cool Mom in the house!
Mole Spiced Chex:
-1.5 Cups of Chex
-1/4 tsp Cinnamon
-1/4 tsp Chili Powder
-Pinch of Cayenne
-Pinch of Cloves
-Pinch of Mexican Oregano
Combine all ingredients into a ziplock bag and let kids shake away.
Pour Mole Spiced Chex into bowl.
Mexican Chocolate Milk:
-1 cup of milk
-2 teaspoons unsweetened cocoa powder
-1 teaspoon agave nectar or honey.
Pour ingredients into bowl then let the kiddos wisk away.
Finish by adding Mexican Chocolate Milk to bowl of Mole Spice Chex.
