I can’t believe what has happened…. My children have GROWN over the summer. Jude & Ruby have always been on the small side, so I guess Michael and I have been lucky on getting our moneys worth out of their clothing, until now. This morning I went through their closet and discovered that more than half of it no longer fits them!! So the shopping plans began. I started to draft an essentials list for both Jude & Ruby this fall. Pieces that are multipurpose to maximize the money we spend and that can be accessorized in a variety of styles.

On March 16, 1966, at 704 E. Broadway, in Anaheim, California, brothers Paul Van Doren, James Van Doren, and three other partners opened up their first store. The Van Doren Rubber Company was unique in that it manufactured shoes and sold them directly to the public. On that first morning, twelve customers purchased Vans deck shoes, which are now known as “Authentic”. The shoes that were made in the morning were ready for pick-up in the afternoon.
